Well, I guess I'm a little conservative here. I take the Bible rather literally. I don't understand some, and may not understand what I think I understand. Nevertheless, the Bible is the inspired word of God, and the limits of my understanding does not take away from the fact Bible means exactly what the text says and is in perfect harmony with itself. An omnipotent deity would not let his words be perverted by the human limitations of a devoted translator. Few things are as simple as Christianity, and yet it is the hardest thing in the world. There are verses in the Bible that can nearly sum all of it up, and yet not a book exists that can fully explain it. Sometimes it is a shame that a book like the Bible would be left for us to try to interprete, but yet believing that would be limiting His power and authority. Simply Perfect, how else can I explain. My Utmost for His Highest has really been a blessing to me and to a great many others. Somehow the book always brings a point of view that I have not thought about or have ignored. Thankfully, it's on the web, so you can add it to your daily browsing :-). ... and some of my favorite entries:
GCN has a bunch of other online devotionals if you want to check them out. Some you can even get e-mailed to you daily. Favorite Verse: I
will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths
I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and
make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will
not forsake them. -Isaiah 42:16 links
